SOUTHEASTERN N.C. | BB&T Corp. on Thursday announced that it has named a Wilmington banker as president of the bank's North Carolina Southeast Region, based in Whiteville.
Phil Marion, BB&T's city executive in Wilmington, replaces Jeff Etheridge, who retired.
The bank's Southeast Region comprises New Han?over, Brunswick, Duplin, Sampson, Bladen, Onslow, Columbus and Robeson counties
Marion, 54, has more than 31 years of banking experience, BB&T said in a news release.
Since joining BB&T in 1985, he has served as a business services officer in Raleigh and the Piedmont region in Winston-Salem, corporate banker for the Piedmont Region and city executive for Lumberton.
Marion also is on the Board of Trustees of the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
